Baby it's cold Inside..

So we have the house and now I know what I'm going to need in terms of appliances (which thankfully, is now simplified since I don't have to worry about the microwave, range, ovens or dishwasher.)

Fridges and freezers are basically my concern now. At first I wanted the GE profile because a.) it's hella nice and b.) I had planned on having to install a GE profile gas range. Now that thats no longer the case and all my other appliances will be fridgidaires, I feel I can get whatever is both the most economical, energy efficient and stylish. I think I am finding this in the Maytag Ice2o

$1528 @ Home Depot. The video link above showcases all of it's cool features. Its functional enough for me and an American brand just like my husband wants. All is good.

Then I turn my eye to my second fridge. I'm a chef who likes to entertain so I gotta have a backup fridge! And luckily, my laundry room has a little space set aside to dedicate to one. Doesn't have to be anything fancy though, I just need it to cool. So I'm thinking of going with something like a basic black GE topfreezer fridge

Under $500

And a little later on, we want to pick up an upright freezer to throw in the garage because I want to start a stockpile of meats and will need a place to store my homemade stocks and sauces. So, again with a GE (a little over $500 this model)

I imagine an upright will be infinately more functional than a chest, which I've had and hated. With this you just open the door and everything is easily seen and stacked. Love.

Another Idea Post Dump..

So... we just got our offer accepted on a new house in Tennessee! (pix to follow) And now my mind is swimming with so much stuff, I can't hardly narrow it down. So I need to make a dump post to organize later (hopefully) - I'm really hoping to get around to this since my last day of work is in a week and I'll have a few weeks this summer with the kids, moving and what not. Anyway..

So now that we're going to be settling in one place for what we percieve will be quite sometime, we are excited to start up our garden! I'm thinking raised beds is the way to go, that way you have a better chance of having soil that will yield great results (we have one at work for herbs and it has just flourished in the month it's been in place).
This place sells kits (in rectangle and cirlce) for $149 each, joints and all. The wood has already been insect and sun treated

http://www.windandweather.com/Circular-Raised-Bed-Kit_p1644.html

(I also want some of their tomato stakes and kinetic pinwheels)

This also reminds me, I saw solar powered path lights today @ Lowes that I want for the front walkway. They look easy to install (just shove in the ground)

And speaking of Home Improvement stores.. I want a storm door put on the back door. One with a screen so I can let the fresh summer breezes in and hear the kids playing in the back yard

There's also the tiny issue of the exterior of the house (which is just fine) but I feel there's a "bare spot" if you will, right up front and center between the door and the small accent window. So in between there I want to hang a wrought iron wall grill for decorative purposes. Something kind of like this (from touchofclass.com)

Then, I was thinking, because of how my new kitchen will look and the house on the whole - I'm reconsidering my breakfast nook dining furniture. I want to incorporate rattan/woven/bananaleaf/seagrass chairs and stools (there will be a breakfast bar! Eeep!)
I would love these ones from Pottery Barn

But might have to settle for the slightly cheaper ones from Target

More woven stuff - baskets from Pier One

Cheap accent chair and a good way to get some color in there

More cupcake crap and ideas..

Cupcake cut out for you to personalize - $9 on etsy - I think 3 of these would look cool over a bed

http://www.etsy.com/listing/61262350/cupcake-12-inch-unfinished-shape?ref=sr_gallery_26&ga_search_query=cupcake+wall&ga_page=7&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_facet=handmade

Cupcake memo board - $20 on etsy
http://www.etsy.com/listing/73461437/cupcakes-memory-board?ref=sr_gallery_33&ga_search_query=cupcake+wall&ga_page=2&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_facet=handmade

More cupcake candles - on etsy

Cupcake knob pulls - $16.00 for a pair on etsy
http://www.etsy.com/listing/68375469/door-knobs-cupcakes-pulls-set-of-2-mini?ref=v1_other_1

Then I'm gonna paint small square canvases (IDK how many yet, maybe 7-9) with a different kind of cupcake on each. So far my ideas are to make a rainbow cupcake, something with pearl sprinkles, something with an orange wedge, something with a tin foil cup (metallic paint), a red velvet one and one maybe with a little stick umbrella with lime frosting - ooh and maybe a mint chocolate chip. Kinda like this

And maybe I can come up with clever sayings for each.. Like
~ "a cupcake a day keeps the sweettooth away"
~ or the popular "Keep calm, have a cupcake"
~ or "cupcakes 25c"
~ or "sugar and spice and everything iced"
~ or "so many cupcakes, so little time"
~ or "sweet dreams are made of these"
~ or "the sweetest things in life are frosted"

They want $150 for this, I could definately paint something like this myself

I'm pretty sure I could make something like this.. I want all the kids to have their own xmas trees in their rooms this year and felt ornaments are so ideal. My grandmother could probably help me with this because she made me all kinds of felt ornaments for when the kids were babies - but this looks straightforward enough.

And I'm fairly sure I can make my own cupcake bow holder - which would be cute with cupcake and/or polka dot ribbon. I see some cute ones out there but I think I really want to make one myself - for example

I like this cupcake chalkboard - comes from the UK but apparently she does ship

And then I have an idea to get a chandelier  OR make one and I want to fill little acrylic ornament balls filled with sprinkles from it. Maybe something simple like this (PBteen)
Or

And for bedding, I'm pretty well decided on polka dot.. Except, do I go with bright or light pink?!?

Stop the presses, fire up the oven

I had a eureka moment about Tatum's room. I know I said Rainbow before but I feel that too much of a good thing will probably turn to a bad thing, with the kind of color explosion that could happen in a room full of rainbows.

So.. I'd been thinking about what else I might do for her. I've always liked the idea of a parisian black/pink theme with lost of scrolling and damask.. But then I figured that's more me and less "Tatum". Then I saw polkadots.. another me thing but it's something we share since Tatum loves polkadots as seemingly much as I. So then I thought "dots.. they kind look like sprinkles.. Sprinkles? SPRINKLES! CUPCAKES!". And then.. not just cupcakes, because c'mon - that's been done. I'm no pioneer there. And then I thought.. BAKERY!

As it turns out, I'm no pioneer there but it's where my head is at and I'm liking it. It's PERFECT for Tatum and it's something I can see her liking well into her teens. I'm going to stick with basic bedding, so she's not tied down - and then lots of custom art work. I'm going to get into painting again this summer and the kids rooms are first on the docket. LOVE!

Anyway.. here are some cool ideas and trinkets I want for this project..

These awning valences! I MUST have these! I don't care if I have to get a tailor to custom make them.. they're happening. And this reading nook idea is amazing. It's also happening. These playtents are sold @ Land of Nod.

Before I forget..

I've kept these tabs up for a while now and I need to get them all out in a post even though most aren't related.

I like this style idea for side windows in a bonus room

This is the exact kind of stove setup I want. I'm excited to be moving very near to the place where Viking units are manufactured

This shower curtain for the kids new bathroom, which will be frog themed

I think I want to get both of the girls new bedding from potterbarnteen. This is too cute!

As well as this awesome $60 desktop drink fridge for the Mr.'s office!

And it will be for when I have superfluous money (Dunno the whens or ifs on that) but I love these dress forms! ($200)

Other places for our butts

I've been looking for a good bit @ some accent seating for the new place. I've always thought it was sophisticated to have accent chairs that went well with your couch, but that weren't too matchy matchy. I've always been a fan of loveseats, chair and 1/2s and settees too - especially anything wingbacked. A few I'm considering...

This Melbourne Settee in teal for the Master

It's $599.99 @ Target but I saw it for $449.99 yesterday on a daily deal so maybe that will come back.. when it does, I'm on it - it also comes in a cool salon tea print for $30 less
http://www.target.com/Melbourne-Pillow-Top-Linen-Settee/dp/B004HFX8N0

Then there's also this contender
The Home Reflections Velvet Chaise Lounge in Honey from QVC for $492. I need an accent color in my room and I'm thinking Honey/Cream will do the trick. It also comes in black, which is highly enticing.
http://www.qvc.com/qic/qvcapp.aspx?view=2&app=detail&params=item^H160945,RecTypeInd^IOFFER,navlist^H160945*H135234*H181656*,cp^detail,tmp^related,cpprod^H179444,cm_scid^dtlr&walk=&cmtags=

How cool is this one?!? I totally want it for Tatum's room

French Divan chaise lounge - $560 from wakupfrankie.com

QVC also has this very pretty slipper chair in canary green moss. It comes in other fun colors too, like maize and orange - $285

I'm also digging on this other chair QVC has

The Angelo Home Hudson Arm Chairfor @252 in Pumpkin and cream - I would love a way to incorporate some orange into my living spaces. It might just have to settle for being in the office (supposing *hoping* we have one). But I love colors that pop like this.

I think it'd be cool if I could find something like this but I have no idea where, lol

(photo from nestingnewbies.com)

There is a white leather settee I saw previously that I'm going to have to keep an eye out for but it's another strong contender for the office, which is about the only space in which it could be kept and not detroyed. I'm procrastinating on homework so I gotta jet!
